Echo 2018 Adventures Day 4: Applying Our Sailing Lessons To Our Broad Reach Voyage For The Day

Day 4 started off on a great foot. We woke up at 7a.m. on a beautiful sunny Friday morning to get breakfast ready. For breakfast, we had a classic buffet. Shortly after breakfast, we collected all of our belongings to go diving for the morning.

Our Open water divers finished their confined skills dives, and are now ready to face the great big sea. While they were finishing their skills, the recreational divers did two beautiful dives. We saw many species of fish, coral, a lobster, and even a few sharks! After the dives, we got back on Moselle at Cooper Island to drop the ball to set sail to the Indians.

During our sail, we learned about the points of sail and applied it to our broad reach voyage of the day. When we arrived at the Indians, we picked up a ball and had an ASA sailing lesson before jumping in the water to hangout and enjoy a quick little snorkel. After the snorkel, we got back on the boat and dropped our mooring ball to head to Norman Island. Once we were secure on the ball, we jumped in the water for some showers.

After showers, we enjoyed some down time hoping that Captain Arter would come back with a new propane tank so we could enjoy dinner, but unfortunately that did not happen as there was an oversight by our charter company. In good spirit and with some quick improvisation, we decided to head to land to enjoy some very delicious meals. After dinner, we headed back to the boat to have a boat meeting, where we talked about our most sentimental positions and learned a lot about each other. Today was a great day, and we are heading into Saturday with an open mind and an open heart.
