Echo 2018 Adventures Day 8: Deepening Our Understanding Of Our Vessel

Today, we woke up in Trellis Bay bright and early to a yummy breakfast and a trash snorkel around Trellis Bay. We picked up lots of trash and some even had little creatures in them like crabs and eels! A riveting ASA lesson followed where we deepened our understanding of our vessel itself and learned even more about right of way rules.
Following our sailing lesson, we got to shop onshore a bit and everyone got some neat shirts from Aragorn’s Local Art Studio and some snacks from the Trellis Market grocery store. We then practiced mooring ball pickups for a bit and perfected our approach. Our skipper of the day was in control of the helm and did a great job of assigning positions and taking control.
After a long sail of practicing our tacking, we finally moored in Leverick’s Bay and started showers. Then, we had a delicious dinner ashore where everyone bonded and had a blast. A relaxing boat meeting followed with a game of pirates!
