Today was a day to relax and recharge before our big sail to Anegada tomorrow. We started the morning with a lesson on navigation using charts, a compass, dividers and parallel rulers. Our captain Arter taught us everything we needed to know to chart a course and navigate the waters.

After our lesson, we went to shore to test our knowledge of sail trim on the Hobie cats! We took turns sailing the little catamaran around the mooring field using our newfound skills to maximize our speed and maneuverability.

Afterwards, we headed back to boats to enjoy lunch and returned to shore for fun in the pool and on the beach. Just before dinner, we brought the boat to docks to refill our water. Our skipper of the day planned and executed our de-docking and we then picked up another mooring ball on the first try! After having an amazing dinner of vegetable ramen, we all went to bed excited for our journey tomorrow.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
