The fleet woke up ready to hit the day. Divers were dropped off either to explore as fun divers or continue working on their Open Water certifications. Back on the the boats students received that the fleet would be moving to Soldier’s Bay to snorkel because of jelly fish. Soldier’s Bay is a smaller bay on Norman Island that has great snorkel spots and is never busy, so we love going there!
The students then had the opportunity to sail with students from other boats as the non diving students were consolidated on to 3 boats for the journey. Once there they received a lesson on snorkeling then bankrolled off the rib into a sea full of fish and coral. They explored then came home and created a great pizza bagel lunch!
They then got underway and head to the final destination of the day: the Bight. The Bight is also on Norman Island but it is a lot more busy. However, it is still a great swim spot because the current moves out instead of in so there are no jellyfish and LOTS of turtles!
After a quick motor over they picked up mooring balls and enjoyed swimming, paddle boarding, and tubing. They then created a fantastic dinner and got ready for a Soda Social! They went to land to enjoy virgin drinks and soda while also playing fun games with each other. Some of us got in a really heated game of tag. After a fun evening they went home for a mellow night and a great sleep. “My favorite part of the day was finally being able to swim in jellyfish free water!” Natasha Farris.
