The skies filled with sunshine this morning as students awoke for an amazing day. Today, we spent our entire day at the Bitter End Yacht Club! After a delicious breakfast, students came to shore for the first exciting activity: the Bitter End hike — a steep summit called Guy’s Trail. On this hour long hike, students experienced some breathtaking views and fun conversation with one another along with a little huff and puff.

Following the hike, students went to the beach, the shops, or the restaurant for some delicious food. They also had the option of signing up for a plethora of rotation slots throughout the whole rest of the day of small boat sailing (Hobie cats and Getaways), tubing, wakeboarding and paparazzi tubing as well as some free time exploring the yacht club, play beach games and relax. Students returned from the water with huge smiles and a sense of accomplishment for either sailing a small boat or managing to hold onto the paparazzi tube.

The day on shore was relaxing for students but also full of excitement and new memories. In the late afternoon, students returned to their home boats for showers and dinner. As the night came to a close, students enjoyed a delicious batch of Rice Krispy Treats before heading to sleep after an exhausting and grin-bearing day.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
