Foxtrot Day 6

By wpdev August 11, 2014
Today the Foxtrot crew finally got to sleep in a bit at Nanny Cay. After a hearty breakfast of eggs and bacon, everyone went ashore to stop by the shops one last time or have another shower before de-docking.

Lindsay, Wagner, Cammy, and Abe headed back to base with Cass, our Fleet Captain, to sail our 26 ft. keelboat Opal Bella from Hodges Creek to Norman Island.  After two silky smooth dedockings, the rest of the fleet headed across the channel for The Bight, Norman Island.  The OW divers continued their dive education while the certified divers and discover SCUBA divers also went for dives of their own.

Quinton, Joe C., and Joe W. all hopped in Opal Bella for the afternoon.  When the divers got back, it was time for showers and cannonballs off the beam.  After dinner, the students all came together for a lesson about how to practice marine awareness and about fish species identification.  Everyone wound down for the evening with a boat meeting and some oreos before going to bed.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
