Tango 3 Day 6: Setting Sail For Nanny Cay Marina On Tortola

It was an early morning at Salt Island with the scuba divers leaving at 8:00a.m. for an early morning dive. Not soon after, the rest of the Tango crew up-anchored and set sail for Nanny Cay marina on Tortola. With mild winds, they deep cleaned the boat as they sailed to prepare for their first big boat cleaning inspection later that afternoon.
As soon as the marina’s channel markers were in sight they prepped the boat with dock lines and fenders for their first ever docking. It was great teamwork all around with the spotter telling the skipper all the hazards as they entered the marina for a perfecting docking all around.
Once the divers returned, they ate a hot lunch of chicken alfredo sandwiches and passed their cleaning inspection with flying colors. They then had the opportunity to explore Nanny Cay and visit the shops, buy ice cream, and swim at the pool and beach. Next, they enjoyed the “famous” Nanny showers (infamous for their air conditioning and spacious suite-like atmosphere) and ate a filling dinner after a long day of exploring. To end the night, the whole fleet went to the beach for a big ice cream social birthday party to celebrate all the big days while on program.
