Tango Day 13: YEP Garden Tour before an Afternoon Cruise

By wpdev July 26, 2014

This morning, as a request from the crew, our captain Jen fried us up a delicious egg breakfast! After breakfast, we took a tour of the local YEP (Youth Empowerment Program) center. The YEP center had a great garden with recycled tires as flower pots. The tires had been turned inside out, cut along the top, peeled back, and painted to look like flowers! While at YEP, we were surprised by a balloon artist who showed us how to work with balloons. Jeremy made a bow out of balloons that was able to shoot balloon arrows across the room!

After we got back to the boat we ate lunch, fueled the boat and left Hodges Creek Marina for Marina Cay. We raised both our sails and got to spend the afternoon cruising up the Sir Francis Drake Channel.

Later, we showered and relaxed before eating a fantastic Caribbean Jerk Alfredo pasta dinner cooked by Zane, Jake, Sam, and Jeremy, AKA the chuckle heads!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
