Will Sail Caribbean change you?
Ever since my first couple days living on a boat, as a seventeen year old with no plans of the future, I knew I wanted to stay with Sail Caribbean. And that is exactly what I have done. This is my third summer coming down to the island with Sail Caribbean, and after completing the Echo program I will be interning all summer and will train with the other staff members.
While the programs have opened my eyes to marine conservation, team work and all the wonders of sailing, the people I have worked with at Sail Caribbean have changed me the most. I have learned so much about life and how it should be lived from my Captains and Mates. To live on a boat all summer and teach, you have got to have the right kind of people on the job, and it is not for everyone.
The excited attitudes and curious minds of all three of my past Captains have inspired me to see every day as a new experience, no matter how many things go wrong. They all have such a passion for life and have made me look at the world through a new lens. This is what makes Sail Caribbean stand out, and what keeps bringing me back each year. I don’t think a single person could walk away from a S.C. program without being a changed person.
