Ocean 2018 Adventures Day 6: Lionfish Dissection At Nanny Cay Marina

Today, we had the privilege to wake up at Little Harbor located at Peter Island as the sun was making its climb in the sky. We sent our Open Water divers to their final dive to receive their certificates as soon as we awoke. The crew that stayed behind rose the anchor and set sail for Nanny Cay on Tortola.
As we sailed, the crew worked on the ship, each member listening to the skipper’s orders, working on the mast or pulling lines that controlled the sails. No member was idle in their tasks. We did this for several hours, each of us switching positions and learning every station around the ship until we finally arrived in Nanny Cay.
Shortly after we arrived at the docks, our newly minted Open Water divers came back to a thunderous applause from all those present onboard. Next, we split up into our respective programs and Ocean students got to dissect lionfish. Then, we toured the marina for a short while, visiting the pool and having a splash. We finally got to take our first fresh water showers while sailing around the BVI which was tremendously delightful and settled down for the night over a plate of exquisite fajitas cooked from our esteemed crew members.
