Today, we had a little bit of a lie in, as the extra sleep was much needed after having done so much in these past couple days. Once we awoke, we enjoyed a special breakfast of French toast! It was delicious and enjoyed from the cockpit of our boat moored at Cooper Island. After breakfast was cleaned up, we set sail for a new location.

We would be heading to Dead Man’s Bay on Peter Island today. While underway Manao reached a new record of 13.8 knots! They zoomed past all the other boats in pride. Once the fleet arrived to Dead Man’s, all the boats anchored with ease. We started on lunch preparation of chicken Ceasar wraps to fill our tummies up for the rest of our eventful day.

Zibal‘s crew joined the crew on Manao where they enjoyed a very interesting lesson about sea turtles. We went for a snorkel afterwards and saw sea turtles, barracudas and other sea life. After the snorkel, we returned to our boats for some chill time and we could also participate in rounds of water-sports! Some of us could even do jumps and tricks on the wake board which was extremely impressive.

We later returned to our boats for showers and to start making dinner. Sloppy joe’s for dinner went down like a treat. We dove into our nightly boat clean before sitting down to our nightly boat meeting. At tonight’s meeting, we made a full value contract where we talked about things that we wanted to keep on and off the boat. For example, we wanted respect on the boat but negativity and sand (!) off the boat. After a great discussion, we all found our sleeping spots and powered down for the evening.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
