Dylan Satar

Marine Biology Mate

Dylan is stoked to be joining Sail Caribbean this summer as a Mate/Marine Biologist! Originally from Izmir, Turkey, and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, Dylan’s passion for the ocean runs deep. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Science from the University of Maine and is a certified Divemaster with a special love for sharks and all things marine megafauna. His journey as an educator and explorer has taken him across the globe-from coral reefs restoration projects in Honduras to teaching marine ecology in the Bahamas and reconnecting with his coastal roots in Turkey. In high school, he spent his summers working on sailboats in Cape Cod, where he fell in love with the rhythm of life on the water and the power of experiential learning. Whether he’s underwater spotting reef sharks or on deck helping trim sails, Dylan brings energy, curiosity, and a genuine love for teaching to the Sail Caribbean team. He’s passionate about helping teens build confidence, connect with nature, and become thoughtful stewards of the sea. This summer, he’s ready to dive in and help create unforgettable adventures, both above and below the surface!
