B-Staff training is in full swing! We kicked off the day waking up in stunning Lee Bay, off Great Camanoe, and got ready for a busy agenda. After an early breakfast on board, we had a deanchoring lesson from our leadership and swapped crew between Betty’s Dream and Tonga. Deanchoring Betty’s Dream was tricky, but we pulled it off after a few attempts. We then set sail around the north side of Great Camanoe, practicing sail raises, tacking, and reviewing points of sail.
We stopped at Marina Cay and did a group mooring, then cooked a delicious lunch of chicken caesar wraps on board, followed by a docking lesson. After lunch, we sailed to Scrub Island and completed our first docking of staff training. After a big boat deep clean at Scrub, leadership taught us about common medical circumstances with students in the BVIs, and directions on how to handle those scenarios. We had some free time to explore the resort shops and pools, then regrouped for smash burgers for dinner.
The night ended with a high-energy game of salad bowl and an appreciation circle that brought everyone together. We wrapped up with boat meetings, land showers (finally!), and are now looking forward to sleeping in a bit before sailing to Virgin Gorda!
