ALPHA & TANGO DAY 9

By Nora E July 16, 2025

Written by Jacob K., Mate on Boat Summer

After a beautiful sunrise, divers were dropped off at the dive boat for their last dive. While divers were dropped off, everyone else prepared to sail to Mountain Point! The Skipper of the Day was Colton, the Navigator of the Day was Quinn, and the Mate of the Day was Ruthie.

The sail was a challenging yet rewarding upwind sail to Mountain Point. The students practiced tacking as well as sailing on a close reach.

Once the sail was completed, we had shore time at the Bitter End Yacht Club.

On shore, students had the opportunity to sail Hobie Cats, participate in water sports, and go shopping at the market & boutique. Hobie Cats are small catamaran sailboats that can fit up to four students and one staff member. Students who went water sporting returned with huge smiles!

At the end of the boat meeting, we held an appreciation circle where we shared our appreciation for everyone. It was a great way to end the day!
