The Lates Fleet! Day 7
Written by Chaira M., Mate & Dive Coordinator on Y-Nissi
What a day on the water! We started off the morning at Nanny Cay, had our breakfast buffet, and divers got ready to leave as it was their last training day. The rest of our crew got ready for rotations of truck rides around Tortola and sailing on Colgate 26s. Everyone returned, and some of the divers came back certified! Then, we started getting our boats rigged and ready to leave Nanny Cay and set sail to Jost Van Dyke. The wind was just right, and the bay gave us perfect sailing conditions for a morning of jibing and building confidence at the helm with Eva as the skipper of the day.

After a solid sail across the water, we moored at Little Harbor, Jost Van Dyk. Students took turns jumping off the boat and just enjoying the sunshine with their crewmates. Some students on Blueberry squeezed in a bit of tubing as well.

In the afternoon, we had started showers and were getting ready for our main event, the soda social!
To wrap up the day, we went ashore at Sidney’s Peace & Love for a lovely evening of good food, ice cream, shopping, and lots of dancing. It’s amazing to see how much everyone is learning while having a blast.
