Today was the bittersweet and inevitable departure day.  We all woke up at 5:15a.m. to prepare and say our goodbyes to the first group of students leaving at 5:45a.m.  We ate breakfast and embraced each other before loading up the taxis. Most of the rest of the students relaxed on the boats for the next couple hours before departing themselves.

On behalf of the entire 2017 Delta 2 staff and Sail Caribbean as a whole, I thank all of the students for a truly amazing and unforgettable last three weeks and welcome you all to the Sail Caribbean family. The other staff and I had such a blast getting to bond with each and every one of you, exploring new islands and enjoying each other’s company.

Congratulations to all of you for your accomplishments, whether they are sailing, diving, or personal. I watched all of you develop into leaders and gain valuable friendships that I urge you to continue for years to come. I hope you will stay in touch with the other staff and me as well, and we wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
