After a solid night’s sleep on mooring balls at Cooper Island, the students woke up and prepped for an exciting day diving, snorkeling, and visiting shore for the first time since Hodges! They started the day with loaded eggs (cheese, peppers, and tomatoes), and divers went ashore while the rest of the fleet combined for a quick sail from Cooper to Salt Island. The students anchored for the first time, listened to a snorkel and coral lesson, and saw some great underwater sights (colorful reefs, lots of fish, a big crab, & an eel!). They then up anchored, returned back to Cooper, and made some delicious pita pockets for lunch before picking up divers.

After lunch, students went ashore to visit Cooper Island Beach Club, shopped in the boutique, ordered virgin drinks, and ate plenty of homemade ice cream! After a fun-filled afternoon, students returned back to the boats to shower, prep dinner (Chicken Caesar wraps!), and fuel up for the night dive!! A highlight of the dive was the pregnant seahorses! Tired after a long day, students came back to shower and enjoy a quiet night on board before hitting the hay and getting some Zzzs before the next day.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
