Ahoy, land people! I’m Franny, your social media mate, writing from Hodges Creek Marina in Tortola.

Nearly all of our staff have arrived—from captains and mates to our dive crew—flying in from around the globe to kick off training. We greeted our arrivals with big smiles, music, and an evening grill-out on the docks featuring hot dogs and hamburgers. After playing a few games and reviewing the week’s schedule, we all climbed aboard our boats for the first night of sleep under the stars.

This morning, we woke up to sunny skies and a classic breakfast of bagels and cereal. As we ran through the day’s plans, the first campers for our ECHO program began to trickle in. Meanwhile, two boats of staff set sail for their first night out at sea (including me)!

After a thorough de-docking lesson, we set sail for Marina Cay. Once we got there, we had a refreshing swim, our first boat clean, and an iconic ocean shower. We capped off the day with a delicious carbonara pasta dinner. Evening meetings wrapped things up before we all settled in, gently rocked to sleep by the waves.

The energy is high, and we can’t wait for what’s in store tomorrow!
