Hello from Trellis Bay! Today was challenge day, and all of our campers woke up on Unsinkable II with so much excitement. After a quick breakfast buffet, our skipper Cecilia took charge in assigning positions to drop the mooring ball.
Everything went smoothly as we headed out towards Trellis. Then it was time to raise sails! Counselors were extremely impressed as campers worked the lines and trimmed the mainsail and jib. Sadie and Izzy did an amazing job cranking the winches! After a few tacks, it was time to motor the rest of the way. So our campers lowered the sails efficiently and awaited one of our final destinations. Their confidence and enthusiasm were high as we picked up our next mooring ball. Once we made it to Trellis Bay, campers got to enjoy some time on shore while our divers (Maddie, Cecilia, Ella and Izzy) got to join Sail Caribbean Divers for a fun dive! They all got to explore a shipwreck and saw lobsters, a stingray, and a pufferfish.
On shore, campers could grab a quick bite to eat or shop for souvenirs at Aragon Studio (they have the coolest t-shirts!) Walt, Brody, and Lucas enjoyed chatting and watching a soccer game. Quinn and Ilana bought some cute shell bracelets! After that, Alpha fleet split up into ASA 101/103 certification tests on Ondine. THEY ALL PASSED! Woop woop! Campers not getting an ASA certification got shuttled to Unsinkable II to learn about marine birds and sargassum from some of our fabulous Marine Bio staff, Jack and Emilia.
Shortly after that, it was time for our last ocean shower and dinner prep. We had a dance party on the bow at the same time! Dinner was chicken bowls with rice, peppers, and cucumber. It was delicious! After a boat clean, we had our nightly meeting and talked about our high, low, and hero of the day. We’re all very excited to explore the Baths tomorrow morning during our last full day. Goodbye for now!
