The three weeks of Delta adventures have officially started! All of the students arrived safely to Hodges Creek Marina two days ago to their wonderful boats. They had a scrumptious dinner of grilled chicken, rice and beans, coleslaw, and veggies. Since a few of the students have been to camp before, they showed the new students around the marina and fun parts of living on the boat.
The next day, the Delta crews on Beau Budd, Maora, and FLX visited the dive shop and met the dive staff. They got to shop around the shop and bought some fun water toys, clothing, and accessories for diving. Ellen, a mate of Beau Budd, is a dive instructor and is super excited to go diving with the Delta crews both in the BVI and in the Leeward Islands.
After getting some new Sail Caribbean swag, the three Delta boats got ready to de-dock from Hodges and head on a lovely upwind sail to White Bay on Guana Island. Upon arrival, they jumped in the water to perform their swim test and do some snorkeling. A nice and restful sleep was welcomed after such an exciting day!
Day 3 started with an early sail over to Cooper Island with the Mega and Alpha fleets. Since Delta got there early, they spent some time ashore at the coffee shop, boutique, and got some ice cream. While some of them are divers, the others all had some “swimmy fun time” on FLX! Now, while dinner is being made, the crews are admiring the beautiful sunset with 14 Sail Caribbean burgers flowing in the foreground.
