Earlies Fleet! Day 7
Written by Emily P., Mate on Snow Cat
This morning, we started the day bright and early at our home base, The Moorings. Some students had the chance to get more diving in with Sail Caribbean Divers first thing!
Those who weren’t diving embarked on a scenic truck tour around Tortola to gain an understanding of one of the incredible islands we sail around. Going high into the hills, we saw tons of goats, chickens, and lots of small businesses booming with customers. The sense of community around Tortola is contagious and really made students curious about the culture beyond the boats of the BVI.
Today was an especially exciting sail because we did a Mate Swap. Mates from all 5 boats traded places so campers had a chance to sail with different crew members! We de-docked successfully for the SECOND time, and safe to say it was seamless.
On Pacify, we practiced Challenge Day (a Sail Caribbean tradition where kids take full control of the vessel for a sail at the end of the program). The students killed it sailing from The Moorings to Bitter End, making it there just before sunset.

Once we arrived, everyone returned to their home boats, and ocean showers commenced. In the meantime, our chefs began prepping dinner in the galley. Tonight we had delicious burrito bowls, and then Snow cat played posse (one of our favorite games) and hit the hay around 9!
