This morning, the fleet woke up at beautiful Cooper Island, eager for a fun day ahead! Divers were up early, heading to shore to meet the dive boats. Advanced Open Water divers set out to a gorgeous site off Salt Island, while open water divers used the skills they learned yesterday to set up their gear and prepare for a day beneath the surface.

While the divers explored the reefs, the non-divers sailed over to Salt Island for the salt hike. We walked between the salt ponds, took in some breathtaking views, and learned about the island’s history, including stories of the first family to live there and their descendants who remain today. Also, we learned about the Wreck of the Rhone, which was a ship that unfortunately sank off the coast of the island in 1867. From the top of the trail, we even spotted some of our divers in the water below!

After the hike, we went back to the boats for lunch and pre-departure checks before setting sail for Great Harbour on Peter Island. During the trip, students reviewed the points of sail, practiced tying bowline knots, and worked on essential skills like upanchoring, raising and lowering sails, and mooring.

Once moored at Great Harbour, divers returned to their crews, and everyone enjoyed some fun swim time and boat showers before dinner prep. Stir fry was on the menu, followed by a boat meeting and lights out, ready for another exciting day tomorrow!
