Foxtrot 1 & Sierra 1 2015 – Day 7

written by Program Director, Oliver Bierman-Lytle

After a leisurely morning, the fleet headed from Cooper Island to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour. Back on dock, Foxtrot performed a deep clean of their boat, while Sierra prepared to move onto a new a boat, Spyglass. The students called home, checked in with their parents and shared the excitement from the days prior.

After lunch and some time exploring the shops, Paige, Robby, Paul, Vin, Emily, David, Aiden, Liam and Alejandro finished their final Open Water dive, earning their Open Water Diver certification! Kayla, Nico, Matt B., Dylan, Matt H., and Reese went out on their second fun dive at the Dog Islands. Julie, Marley, Mayra, and Eric spent the afternoon on the docks eating ice cream and exploring the many shops. After long freshwater showers, the students enjoyed Philly cheesesteak sandwiches for dinner, followed by more down time to explore the new boat on the Sierra program and lots of time to socialize.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
