Our year-Round Dive Operation

Looking for a teen summer camp with its own year-round diving operation? Well, you can stop looking here because Sail Caribbean is the only one you’ll find. That’s right: Sail Caribbean’s sister company, Sail Caribbean Divers, is a PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors) Five-Star Instructor Development Dive Center. This means that you’ll be diving with a company that excels in its commitment to providing quality diver training and continuing education programs that include dive experiences and environmental awareness. Sail Caribbean Divers’ full-time professional dive staff maintain three land-based locations throughout the BVI, a fleet of custom Newton dive boats, and a full inventory of top-rated scuba equipment. They truly know the BVI since they’re active residents and partners in the local community. Sail Caribbean and Sail Caribbean Divers are on the leading edge of dive education – there’s nowhere better!

Reefs, Wrecks and Rays

Inside every scuba diver lives a true adventurer. Waiting just below the water’s surface are colorful pinnacles and coral reefs, sea fans, caverns, shipwrecks, tropical fish, sea turtles, sting rays, lazy nurse sharks, octopi, sea horses, lobsters, and tons of fish of every shape and color. It is truly a unique experience. The BVI is home to many shipwrecks that students can explore, some dating back to the 1800s! Other boats have been sunk more recently to create a new home for the reef to grow.

Industry StandardCare

We take excellent care of our equipment (and yours too)! Our dive boats have plenty of freshwater to rinse gear after each dive, which is an industry standard and also recommended by PADI. A freshwater rinse helps to prevent corrosion and potential gear malfunction. If we were diving from sailboats instead of our custom dive boats, this preventative measure would be much more difficult to take because of the limited space for water storage on those vessels.

Benefits of Our Local Presence

The BVI is our home and we’ve made lots of very good friends on the islands over the years. We know the perfect times to hit the prime dive locations because we’re always here! Throughout each year, Sail Caribbean Divers works with schools and a youth empowerment organization to provide diving opportunities for local students.

As one of the premier dive operators in the BVI, Sail Caribbean Divers regularly drills for emergencies with VISAR, the BVI’s volunteer marine search and rescue organization. Our divers have assisted VISAR with rescue efforts many times when called upon. VISAR’s drills and procedures are also taught to our summer staff during pre-summer training exercises.

Dive At Your Own Pace

Everyone who chooses to dive, whether new or experienced, can go at their own speed. Students will get access to self-paced, online academics to complete before the program starts so they can spend more time in the beautiful waters of the BVI. More than half of our students choose scuba diving as part of their summer adventure. They’ll be grouped with others at the same level, with experienced instructors ensuring everyone is safe and comfortable. With a five-to-one student-to-staff ratio, students are able to work at their own pace and achieve their certification goals.

Are You New to Scuba Diving? You’re not alone! Last summer more than half of our adventurers tried scuba diving for the first time. We have two excellent options for our students with the curiosity to go deeper, and both require no prior experience! Option one is a Discover Scuba Dive (DSD) Course, a non-certification introduction to diving under direct supervision. Option two is the Open Water certification. This is a more in-depth, certification-based, entry-level course offered by PADI. Scuba diving is the highlight of the trip for many students and often provides the motivation to earn additional certifications later on!

We’ve certified thousands of teens as Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Specialty divers. Even experienced divers pursuing advanced certifications learn and progress at different rates. We are able to work with each student at their own pace due to the strength of our Sail Caribbean Divers staff, our practice of maintaining close communication with students’ Captains, and the flexibility of our own fleet of custom dive boats.
