Foxtrot/Sierra Day 3 by The Crew of Samba

By wpdev June 24, 2014

Skipper of Samba: Madison

Navigator: Nick

Mate: Hannah

We woke up at 7:00 am and ate a breakfast buffet around 7:15. Afterwards, the divers went to shore and learned/reviewed their open water scuba material. We were able to go for a 15 foot deep swim once we got comfortable with breathing underwater. The non-divers had fun with a morning of snorkeling at the Indians. Nick saw a stoplight parrot fish and a painted lobster.

Once everyone got back and ate lunch, the whole fleet went ashore to the Pirate’s Bight to go on a very hot hike. At the top we played games with the group and then continued back down to the beach. After a delicious dinner back on the boats, and a quick cabin clean, we went back to Norman to enjoy some island fun!

Today our crew did a great job of bonding and we still need work on keeping the boat clean. A miracle moment for a handful of us was learning to scuba dive!!

Finally, we found ourselves attempting to master a  tongue twister which inevitably became our quote of the day: “a ship shipping ship, shipping shipping ships”

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
