Day 4

Port of Departure: The Bight, Norman Island

Port of Arrival: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Skipper of the Day: Matthew

Mate: Josh

The day started with all of us “sleeping in” until seven rather than five.  Four of us went to continue learning how to SCUBA dive at Norman Island, while the others went to snorkel at the caves.  After those activities we set sail for Peter Island.  We raised our main and the jib for the first time on the trip.  During our sail we learned how to tack better while other members of the crew napped.  We made our way to Great Harbour and got our second mooring ball of the trip.  We were the second boat from our fleet to arrive and get settled.  We had a great dinner of chicken stir-fry while it rained.  We spent a lot of “family” time on the bow today and learned a lot about each other.

Today our crew did a great job of picking up the mooring ball.  We need to work on getting some good rest and staying energetic throughout the day.  Our miracle moment was when we got our captain

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
