We began the day at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor. Some of our students had a morning dive, while everyone else got to sail Rioja together. The students of Rioja and Fermi sailed together to Deadman’s Bay on Peter Island. The divers got to dive at Ginger Steps and Ginger’s Backside! Some of our staff picked up the divers at Cooper Island and we enjoyed a delicious lunch of chicken Caesar salad wraps. After lunch, students sailed to Deadman’s Bay to join the rest of our fleet!

Once we were all back together, students got ready for their afternoon dives. Those who didn’t go diving joined the Soxtrot fleet for a lesson about turtles and even caught two turtles! Once the lesson was finished, students went back to their boats to hang around and enjoy the sunset. Once divers returned, we enjoyed a dinner of macaroni and cheese with hot dogs before the divers went of their second night dive of program! For the night dive, students got to explore the dive site Painted Walls while practicing skills for their night specialties. When the dive was complete everyone returned to their boats to take night showers and to go to bed and prepare for their trip to Great Harbour the following day.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
