We woke up this morning in what the crew described as the most beautiful spot that we have visited so far in the BVIs. We were moored at Monkey Point while the rest of the fleet was moored off of White Bay just a 3 minute dinghy ride away which we confirmed after making the trek over to our fellow ships for a morning squid dissection!

After an hour of learning about chromatophores, squid beaks and the difference between legs and tentacles, we all made our way back to our home boats and prepared to drop anchor and sail over to George Dog to pick up our divers. The sail took us roughly 4 hours which gave each crew member plenty of time on the helm to practice reading the wind, trimming sails accordingly and maneuvering through a tack at the top of the channel where the wind and waves are both a bit less forgiving.

Upon arriving at George Dog, we quickly picked up our divers and continued on to Leverick Bay. After a beautiful docking, the crews got to work cleaning their vessels before another cleaning inspection that they had to pass before they could hit the shops, showers and have some phone time. Luckily, incentive kicked us into high gear and we all passed again with nearly perfect scores.

Finally, we ended the night with a barbecue on shore and a dance party with our own personal DJ where we bounced around and sang all night celebrating America’s 242nd birthday and another beautiful day in the Caribbean!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
