Foxtrot 2 & Sierra 2 2018 Adventures Day 12 – Watersporting The Day Away

This morning, students on Foxtrot and Sierra had a glorious 8:30a.m. wake up — what a treat! After a recharging rest, the crews started their day with a breakfast of egg sandwiches, cleaned their floating homes to perfection, and then began a morning of fun. This morning’s activities included Sail Caribbean’s infamous water-sporting tube, Popparazzi, other various water-sports, snorkeling the Kodiak Queen, and working on Sierra projects.
After a morning of rotations, everyone returned to their home boat for a lunch of grilled cheese and tomato soup. We then left for a sail over to Leverick Bay on Virgin Gorda where students successfully navigated a difficult channel and excelled at a Man-Overboard drill underway using a fender dummy for practice.
Once we were moored at Leverick Bay, we took early showers and headed to shore for the evening. Students spent time in the shops buying souvenirs and treats, retreating to the spa getting braids and facials, and heading to the beach to enjoy the afternoon. Sail Caribbean had a delicious dinner ashore put on by the marina’s restaurant (which also meant no dinner clean!) 🙂
After the meal, students danced the night away with DJ Flava on the beach. After our dancing shoes were worn out, the crews returned to their home boats for boat meeting in preparation for Challenge Day tomorrow. They were all so exhausted from their exciting day that they practically fell asleep tying bowlines!
