Weather: Sunny!

It has been a busy past couple of days! From scuba diving to land showers, and dinner on land to preparing for our amazing overnight passage sail we had.

Day 5 was so much fun, and so many memories have been made. We went on two fun dives and saw a lot of wildlife, like a spotted eagle ray! Other animals we saw were sea turtles and Caribbean reef sharks. We then sailed to Bitter End Yacht Club and had a lovely dinner on land.

On Day 6, we started by eating delicious pancakes that I made. Then, we had some time on land at Bitter End, and then we went back to the boat to go to Leverick Bay to get provisions for our passage. We were also able to call our parents and tell them all about the amazing adventures we have been having so far.

Night sail time! We de-docked around 5:30 pm and said goodbye to the BVI with a beautiful sunset in the background. As the sky got darker, we slowly started losing sight of land, which was super cool. Throughout the night, we were able to see the Milky Way and bioluminescence. We watched the beautiful sunrise and sailed until 4:13 pm when we anchored at St. Martin’s!

Day 7, we were mainly sailing but once we anchored, we did a boat clean, called our parents, and headed out to dinner on land. We had smoothies and a delicious dinner!

Some of my favorite moments so far have been diving with Sail Caribbean Divers and the amazing night sail we had! Tomorrow we are going to Ile Fourchue and going on a hike. We have learned night sail safety, about taking our American Sailing Association (ASA) 101 test, and how to sail at night! We are all so excited to see the rest of the French and Dutch Caribbean in the next few days.
