EARLIES Day 3
Written by Katie D; Mate
Greetings!
Today on Moet, we ventured from Lee Bay over to Cooper Island. We woke up around 7:00 AM, with Eleanor and Ashley preparing a delicious breakfast of French toast for everyone.
After breakfast, the crew checked out their roles for the day: Captain Jamesy, Mate Lilliana, and Navigator Ruby. We lifted our anchor off the sandy bottom of Lee Bay and, guided by our fearless leaders, set sail for Cooper Island. We had some strong monkeys hoisting the sails and others cranking the winch! While underway, we practiced tacking, and Madden took the helm for a bit while Jamesy got a short break. Our awesome crew worked hard to raise the sails and enjoyed an exciting ride, reaching almost 9 knots!
Before we made it to Cooper, we had a short lesson on how to hook a mooring ball. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there was quite a lineup, so we had to hover for a while. But our crew stayed flexible and upbeat through it all.
Michael and Jamesy whipped up some delicious bagel sandwiches while our Captain Katrina kept the boat steady. Since Cooper was so busy, we ended up motoring over to Salt Island, where we moored for the night.
Later, our divers —Oliver, Madden, Michael, Lilliana, Lily, and Ashley—were picked up and shuttled off to meet the Sail Caribbean Dive Team. They had an awesome time diving with the group. Meanwhile, Ruby, Eleanor, Aylee, and Jamesy snorkeled, paddle boarded and even tried knee boarding!
Once our divers returned, we all did our ocean showers and went for another round of snorkeling. Later on, dinner was prepared by Madame and Ashley, delicious chicken and rice bowls! Afterward, we played card games, name games, and a few fun icebreakers to get to know each other better.
We ended the night with a boat meeting and some delicious cookies.
Today was a beautiful day full of laughs, teamwork, and fun!
