Today was a lovely day! We started at Lee Bay, pulled up anchor, and reached over to good ol’ Cooper Island. Boats got more practice in with raising and lowering the sails. Then came our very first mooring ball pickup of the program! Soon this will be second nature for the crew.
At 1PM, the ball got rolling for the divers. Open water divers practiced their RDP tables, ran through a swim check, and set up their gear. DSD divers got started on the beach, while our advanced, fun, and rescue divers went for a quick dive to refresh their skills.
Meanwhile, watersports commenced! Non divers got out on the tube, headed off to snorkel a lovely reef, or just had some good old fashioned fun in the sun. Snorkelers swam alongside barracuda, parrotfish, and of course, the fish of the day: sergeant majors.
After dark, Jus Chillin was captivated by the show of tarpon coming up to the underwater lights. This is a nearly nightly occurrence here at Sail Caribbean, and the first few times seeing it never gets old. Jus Chillin may or may not have fed an entire pack of hot dogs to the tarpon…
Today was a perfect day to get in the swing of things, filled with jelly checks, new skills, and new activities to try. We are so excited for the rest of Mega 2’s adventures!
