Alpha 1 & Tango 1: Day 13 – The Baths and Final Sail to Hodges Creek

By wpdev July 10, 2021

Day 13

Our staff woke up bright and early and motored the boats to The Baths in Virgin Gorda. After hooking to a mooring ball and making breakfast, the students were ferried to shore to take a hike through the geological wonder filled with granite boulders and sheltered sea pools. The hike led to a breathtaking beach area where the students enjoyed a morning swim. We got lucky by having the entire beach to ourselves!

Lunch was made once everyone was back on their boats. After eating, students prepared for their final sail back to Hodges Creek Marina.

The evening was filled with writing letters to new friends, shopping in the dive shop and trying on their new Sail Caribbean t-shirts. The final night is always a bag of mixed emotions. Students were sad to leave their SC family but excited to see their real family. The night was spend getting in a few more laughs, hugs and memories on the boats.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
