Alpha 2 & Tango 2: Day 11 – Little Harbour

By wpdev July 23, 2021

Day 11

Today was the final day of diving. Students headed out on the dive boat and the rest of the group went ashore for a hike. The hike was up a hill to an old helicopter pad. At the top, the students soaked in the views and played a few Sail Caribbean games, such as Where the Wind Blows and Oh Captain.

After lunch, the fleet headed to Little Harbour where they had to complete their first med anchoring. Med anchoring is a hybrid of anchoring, rafting and docking used in regions where there is little room and tidal range. The boats all successfully anchored and enjoyed an evening of water sports. Many of our students were able to get up on water skis!

Tonight was the Sail Caribbean Chili Cook-Off, a tradition that every program participates in. Each boat is challenged to cook up their best pot of chili to be judged by special guests. Boats are also judged on theme and decor. This program was incredibly creative! Here’s the rundown of each boat’s theme:

Moet- Ratatouille

Stella- Chaos Boat

Kajsa- Staff Training C

Thor – Hollywood Awards

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
