This morning, our three boats woke up on anchor at Mountain Point. After a breakfast buffet, I Am Free, Venture and Spyglass weighed our anchors and headed over to a group of small reef-fringed islands called the Dogs for a few hours. At the Dogs, our non-divers did a snorkel and coral watch, where they collected data about coral coverage on the surrounding reef. Meanwhile, Open Water and Specialty divers were picked up by the dive boat for a few hours of underwater time.

Back on the boat, we dropped our mooring ball and got underway to Trellis Bay, where we welcomed back our divers and enjoyed a lunch of pesto pasta. Next, discovery and fun divers hopped on the dive boat as others got ready to go ashore. On land, those not diving got to go on truck tours of Tortola where they were able to see more of the island. After an amazing dive, divers headed back to their boats to grab money to join their crew members on shore, even having the chance to explore the studio and shop of Aragorn, a famous local artist.

All back on our boats, crews got started making a delicious dinner of honey mustard chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. With dinner cleaned, I Am Free, Spyglass and Venture all ended their evenings with boat meetings, settling into bed to rest up for day 9 of program.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
