Alpha Day 3: Brought to you by the crew of SJ.

By wpdev July 25, 2014
We all woke up to clutch french toast made by Monty and Paul.  We learned about coral and went snorkeling with the whole fleet,we also collected data about the health of the reefs for a project called Coral Watch.  Then we split up into groups and went sailing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, tubing, and played volleyball on the beach. After, Jamie, Seamus, and Callie worked on their SCUBA certification.  Meanwhile, the rest of the crew did some more tubing, went sailing, and then learned about anchoring.  We then showered and relaxed on the boat while Meredith and Ruby prepared burritos.  Dinner was delicious!  Then we tidied up the boat and sat down for an all group boat meeting. It was a great day!

Curriculum covered: Dropping the mooring ball, tacking, Project coral watch.

Today our crew did a great job of: Dropping the mooring.

We need to work on: eating neater…again.

Quote of the day: That’s righteous dude. – Greenbriar

Miracle moment: When we finally anchored

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
