Day 10: The Bitter End and Night Sailing

By wpdev July 26, 2014

The first half of the day was spent enjoying The Bitter End Yacht Club. Some of the crew joined Jason on the Poparazzi, while others enjoyed the shopping or the beach. The crew took out some hobies for some sailing in The North Sound. Everyone returned to the boats for lunch and to get ready for the BIG night sail. There was lots to be done to get ready and everyone pitched into make sure that when four o’clock rolled around we were ready to head to St Martin.

We headed out in the channel, rounded Necker Island and set our course for St Martin, the first stop on our down island adventure. Unfortunately once darkness hit there was some seasickness on board each of the boats. Nobody shied away from their duties and everyone helped out steering the boat or keeping track of navigation. To be continued as we sail through the night…..

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
