Early Alpha Day 13: Brought to you by the crew of Sao Jorge

By wpdev June 20, 2014

We fell asleep last night at Marina Cay and when we woke up we magically appeared at The Baths! We had some breakfast and then swam to shore. Once we arrived, we hiked through the volcanic rocks until we arrived at a natural ‘bath’ of water. We were excited to realize that this is the location of many famous photo shoots from around the world.

After playing for a bit, we traversed some more rocks and then arrived on the other side of The Baths, known as Devil’s Bay. On the beach, we began our Olympic games! These games included tug-of-war, synchronized swimming, dizzy fender, and the creative art of burying our captain and turning him into something!

After completing the games, we began to snorkel back to the start of The Baths. We then were able to hang out for a bit before heading back to boats; then started our final sail!

After arriving on docks, we had some time to call home and shower before getting ready for dinner and skits. We then had a delicious meal of some locally made roti before presenting our skits. Afterwards, we ended the program with an awards ceremony, which brought out many emotions in us all.

The night ended with us writing airplane letters to each other and having our final boat meeting.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
