On July 27th, we sailed from Marina Cay to Savannah, but first, we stopped off at Loose Mongoose for water. Captain Cam did such a fantastic job, helped by the incredible crew of JelliBlu.

We are getting so good at putting up the mainsail, and all the campers are excelling at developing their sailing knowledge.

When we got to Savannah Bay, we anchored, and whilst the divers went diving, we went on a snorkel. Mate Emily saw an octopus! After, Janaye led us through a squid dissection and showed us how we can write on a notebook with the ink. We all had the option to try using the scalpel, and our social media coordinator, Zoe, made a fun Tik Tok (check it out at @sailcaribbean)

We then had Dingy Dares, in which we raced to compete in different challenges such as dressing our counselor up as a character, making a fun drink for the staff boat, having the best handshake, and a race using only paddles. It was super fun!

We finished the day with a play date with Blue Buddha and Stargazer before holding a tea party with those from the staff boat to celebrate Captain Cam’s Birthday.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
