Departure day commenced bright and early, with all campers gathering at the end of D dock. Campers on the 7:30 am ferry hugged their new friends goodbye and grabbed a bite for the road before being shuttled to the Roadtown ferry.

Accompanied by staff, they boarded the ferry from Tortola to St. Thomas. The rest of the campers took the same ferry at 10 am. Upon arriving in the USVI, campers got shuttled to the airport. Final goodbyes were exchanged as students checked in their bags and went through security after grabbing a slice of pizza that was there waiting for them. We are going to miss this awesome crew but are so proud of their growth on and off the water over the past three weeks, and we hope to see them all again next summer! Stay safe and good luck with your school year campers!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
