Good morning campers! After a well-rested night’s worth of sleep, we awake on the docks at Scrub Island. After breakfast, campers had time to make their way to the shop to buy merchandise and tasty snacks. Open water scuba divers worked towards finishing certification while fun divers made their way to dive at the Dog Islands.

The rest of the campers learned how to de-dock and maneuver a 40-50 foot catamaran as a team. We then picked up the scuba divers and sailed to Savannah Bay on Virgin Gorda. Campers made deli sandwiches for lunch underway. After dropping anchors, campers were able to socialize with other boats and discover the beautiful reefs of Savannah Bay, swimming, paddle boarding, and snorkeling. During this time, some students were able to start receiving certifications to drive our dinghies. For dinner, we made chicken, quinoa, and vegetables.

Afterward, we had boat meetings where we played True Coarse games and continued to get to know each other. Some boats hosted play dates with their neighboring Sail Caribbean boat, which included more shared laughs and lots of cookies. After a day of beautiful weather and fun, all settled into their cabins, hammocks, and outdoor sleeping spots. We all look forward to a day of exploring Anegada tomorrow!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
