Today was Challenge Day for the Tango fleet! Challenge Day is when the staff take a giant step back and hand over complete control of the boat to the student crew, including the day’s schedule and managing the navigation, voyage, maneuvers, meals, everything! We had an awesome sail from Nanny Cay to Long Bay on Beef Island and it’s safe to say Challenge Day was a success. Once we got to Long Bay, we had a delicious lunch and prepared our Tango flag for our Olympics competition on shore!

We headed to shore and joined the Soxtrot, Chavo, and Delta megafleet for our combined Sail Caribbean Olympic Games! I Am Free won the dizzy fender competition and came in second place in the tug of war! After Olympics, we got time on shore to sail Picos, go paddle boarding, and kayaking! We then had a BBQ on shore before heading back to boats and powering down!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
