Tango had an awesome first full day today! We woke up early at Hodges Creek Marina and got our day started after a delicious breakfast buffet. After breakfast, some of us went to the dive shop to get prepared for diving on program! We then started our Prior-to-First to learn about our vessel, a 45′ catamaran, I Am Free. Once we learned about the different parts of our boat, how to turn on our engines and use the stove, we started to complete our pre-departure checks.

After our pre-departure checks were completed, we had a stellar dedocking and started on our way to Cooper Island! We learned how to raise our mainsail and how to pick up a mooring ball! At Cooper Island, we picked up a mooring ball and had lunch before heading to shore. On shore, our divers got started on their Open Water course and non divers got some free time on shore to explore Cooper Island.

We headed back to I Am Free for a delicious dinner of burritos and had an early boat meeting to power down for Day 3!

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
