Tango Day 19

By wpdev August 1, 2014

For breakfast this morning, Tango ate scrambled eggs courtesy of Zane and Jake. The crew of Mazurka was excited for their morning snorkle and swam out to Monkey Point on Guana Island to see the ocean life.  Sam saw a squid and an octopus!  A few angle fish and some other sea creatures later, we returned to the boat.

Before raising our anchor, Missy and Claire whipped up guacamole that was the best Kate ever had.  On our way to Trellis Bay on Beef Island, we were hit by a nasty squall, but our skipper, Max, helmed us safely onto the mooring ball.  Several members of the crew learned how to tie a secondary from Captain Dave before lunch.  After sandwiches, we went to shore to check our Aragorn’s Studio and lounge in some hammocks where we met some local cats.

We returned to the boat to shower, and then traveled to YEP for pizza!  After we ate, we played pool and made tie-dye t-shirts with our YEP friends.  It was hard to say goodbye.  Our truck ride back to Trellis included a fun sing along.  At boat meeting, we took our crew tests and reminisced about our fun day.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
