Today, Chloe was our captain of the day, Harry was our navigator and Sophia was our mate. It was the first day where we woke up on the ocean and not on a dock, which was an amazing feeling. Spencer and Cailey made scrambled eggs for breakfast which were delicious. Afterwards, Sophia and Harry went to their second confined water session. Meanwhile, Chloe, Cailey, Nicole, Jerko and Louisa sailed on Opal Bella, our 27 foot keel boat. It was around 20 knots of wind, which was perfect for us. Afterwards, Spencer, Jerko and James went tubing which was thrilling while Selena went paddle boarding with people from Venture.

Before lunch, Chloe, Jerko, Nicole and Louisa managed to watch a turtle-tagging session, which took place on Spyglass, one of the Foxtrot program boats. It was an amazing thing to see. After lunch, Louisa and James went diving in Wreck Ally and saw three different wrecks. The non-divers then sailed Galilee to Salt Island and anchored her there for a BBQ and hike with all the other fleets. The hike was amazing, and the sunset was definitely worth all the exercise.

Today was a great day and we learned how to anchor! Our crew did a great job of communication. Our miracle moment was when Alyssa, Galilee’s captain, shared her mango jam.

The greatest challenge during the program was staying entertained during the quarantine period. Not being able to leave your boat and not having a phone, which was a crutch against boredom, it was difficult at first to stay entertained.
