Jack Owen
Jack was raised on the Coasts of Cornwall, England, and from there grew to love the marine world. This was especially true for the small shore invertebrates thriving in a tidal zone too harsh for most animals, while supporting the whole ecosystem from below. It was this interaction between the many organisms in the marine world that inspired Jack to study Marine Biology at the Universities of Southampton and Bergen, where he absorbed everything from ocean sustainability to aquaculture. He also made the most of the opportunity to sail aboard Southampton University’s research Vessel, Callista, while progressing through the PADI diver qualifications.
These experiences made Jack realise that the best way to protect marine ecosystems would be to prove how much we rely on the marine resources they provide to every person on this planet. And so he made it his goal to advocate for the marine world, teaching people about sustainability and conservation in Wales and Greece. And now he is excited to bring this passion aboard Sail Caribbean’s vessels, sharing the wonders beneath the waves with everyone.
