Marina Toone

Mate & Dive Instructor

Marina brings a passion for the ocean and a love of teaching to every dive. With a degree in kinesiology and a background as a competitive gymnast and collegiate springboard diver, Marina brings a unique mix of body awareness, energy, and enthusiasm to her lessons on land and underwater. Growing up in Pennsylvania and later living in Virginia, she didn’t get the chance to start scuba diving until adulthood, but once she did, it completely changed her life. Now, she travels full time around the Caribbean, hopping from island to island to teach scuba diving and share her love for the underwater world. Marina believes learning should be fun, exploratory, and empowering. She creates a space where students can not only become confident, capable divers, but also get excited about what they’re learning. Whether it’s spotting a rare fish, learning how different species behave, or understanding how we can protect our oceans, she weaves marine education and conservation into every lesson. Her goal is always to make each dive a new adventure. When she’s not teaching scuba, you might find her flipping off a dock, tumbling in the sand, or talking endlessly about her favorite fish (ask her about damselfish!). She’s passionate about helping young people discover what excites both in and out of the water- and she’s thrilled to be part of a team that makes summer unforgettable. This summer, she can’t wait to introduce campers to the magic of diving and help them become ocean stewards and confident underwater explorers!
