Alpha 2 Fleet!- Day 7

We started off the morning back at The Moorings, our home marina in Road Town, Tortola, with a later wake-up that let everyone sleep in a bit.

From there, our divers headed off to get certified, while the rest of camp stayed busy with a squid dissection alongside the marine bio staff and an in-depth sailing lesson taught by some of our sailors.

Then all the non-diving campers reconvened for a truck tour, giving them a chance to see other parts of the island, and by the time everyone regrouped, the divers were back and freshly certified. After some fun boat swapping, the fleet cast off and headed toward Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda, enjoying an incredible upwind beat along the way.

Once the fleet rendezvoused at Savannah Bay and the boats began anchoring, campers kicked off a spirited dance battle on deck. Meanwhile, Vela Vita broke off to grab a mooring ball in Nail Bay, an even more stunning spot with a gorgeous backdrop and a rare BVI sunset over the water.

That evening, Vela Vita capped things off with an incredible snorkel over a coral reef right in the mooring field. The whole fleet came together for pork burritos at supper, followed by a bioluminescence lesson to close out the night.

It was a super fun filled day. The vibes were high and the smiles were wide. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow.
