Hello and welcome to the second day of Alphango 3! We started off the morning with a wonderful breakfast buffet prepared by Ava and Ian. It was a delicious mix of bagels, yogurt and granola, and cereal. After breakfast was cleaned up, we got ready to head to the Sail Caribbean Dive Shop to meet our wonderful instructors and look around the shop.

After rotations, we picked up our Crew 2025 shirts and went back to learn prior to firsts and pre-departure checks for our boats! Jacob, Daisy, and I delivered a de-docking lesson to the students and they were very excited to begin sailing.

The Mike Talk happened and all the students came together to learn about our camp rules and the non-negotiables that Sail Caribbean has.

We had lunch on the dock at Hodges Creek, and we all enjoyed sandwiches together. Hazel was our skipper of the day, and we de-docked together and headed out into the Sir Francis Drake Channel.
* Note: The following photos of sailing were taken on boat Moet!

After motoring out into the channel, we did a raising the sails lesson and foraged on to begin sailing the boat. All of the students on Summer were very ecstatic to sail the boat and did an awesome job of it. Other students, like Jake and Howard, hopped on the steering wheel as well and did a great job of driving the boat!

After sailing around Beef Island we lowered the sails and motored into Trellis Bay. The students learned how to moor the boat and then we began the swim test and showers. We all played on the paddle board and in the water with students from all different boats!

Dinner was chicken fajitas, and everyone helped put it together. We had a boat meeting, played fun games, and had cookies. The students are off to have a good night’s sleep and are very excited to enjoy Cooper Island and water sports tomorrow!
