ALPHA & TANGO 3 Day 7

Day 7 brought us a greatly appreciated late wake up at Nanny Cay, followed by the best way to start the day – pancakes! Afterwards, we had shore time and spent it buying bathing suits at the boutique and smoothies at Riteway.

We de-docked from Nanny, making sure to longline the rib, and quickly raised the sails under the guidance of skipper Kate and navigator Violet. A few jibs later and we made it through soapers cut, spotting Freddie’s house on the hill on the way, and anchored at Sandy Cay with faces painted blue and a decorated pillowcase flag we proudly arrived at shore to represent Libertas in the Olympics.

We commenced with synchronised swimming, choreographing flips to beejees ‘stayin alive’, buried a counsellor by turning Charlotte into an octopus god. Dizzy fender was next and then finally tug of war.

Chanting our way out of the beach, we up-anchored and motored to Little Harbour in Jos Van Dyke. We boat showered in the rain (the best way to do it!) and got our shirts and dresses on to hit Sydney’s for a soda party.

We ate a delicious dinner buffet of jerk chicken and bought as many t-shirts and caps as we could carry, before dancing the night away with the Macarena, line dancing to Cotton Eyed Joe and the wobble, not to mention the conga. Afterwards, it was time to go back to boats for boat meeting where we did appreciations for each other and fell asleep under the stars after one of the busiest days so far.
